Canada a "natural partner" for Germany
On March 29, Dr. Guido Westerwelle, Deputy Chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, paid a brief visit to Toronto to celebrate 100 Years of Canadian German Trade Relations - in an event organized by the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce at Hart House, University of Toronto.
Westerwelle at G8 Foreign Ministers' Meeting
At their meeting in the Canadian city of Gatineau, Québec, the G8 Foreign Ministers reached agreement on key international policy issues. They reaffirmed their support for nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament and sent a strong signal to Iran that its nuclear armament would be unacceptable.
